UNCUT 

The revolution of women against FGM

With the UNCUT PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION, Differenza Donna NGO, No Peace Without Justice, Commission pour l'Abolition des Mutilations Sexuelles - CAMS (France), Institut de Santé Génésique - ISG (France) and La Palabre (Belgium) tell the commitment they are carrying out, with the implementation of the BEFORE Project, to strengthen the role of women in the fight against Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

A photographic exhibition was produced and held in Italy, France, Beglium, the three countries covered by the project, and advertised through the web. The objective was to raise awareness of civil society and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), institutional representatives, media and private bodies/donors at national at EU level.

 

The photographic exhibition contributed to mainstream prevention and protection against FGM in local, national, European and global policies and agendas of civil society and institutional stakeholders working on issues related to diaspora, health, human rights, education and development, to include FGM as a vital component of their work. Moreover, it aimed at mobilising further funds and at increasing commitment from civil society, institutional and private donors to combat FGM.
